Any opinions on the natural bloom from HN? I believe it is 0-10-0. I was thinking of using it instead of nature's nectar as my stand alone P...

Love this thread! More on HN organics please :)

Humboldt's organic line is good...But it seems like they have way too many products that do alot of the same things.

For instance "Pro-Zyme, Mayan Micro-Zyme, Myco-Madness, Myco-Maximum"

And yeah...it can be confusing on what to buy...and trying to discern which is the most necessary...Or else you'd have to buy their whole organic line (11 products)

I'd say, their base nutes (grow and bloom)...then maybe deuce-deuce, Honey ES, and Mayan Microzime would be my choices...(if i were to use them)

But it seems like there are alot of cheaper alternatives to their additives other than the base nutes...

Its all about how much you're willing to drop on nutes...(for a quart size of every nutrient in humboldts organic line...around $1500-$3000)

Seems to be the trend, but I seriously doubt that many advocates of 'name brand' products are even aware of their contents or what purpose they serve. Otherwise they'd be buying the components and not looking for support on their label selections.
the guys at humboldt nutrients know there stuff. they put allot of hard work into their line and its wonderful. honey es is super amazing from what my buddies say

thats a full line thats gonna grow you some good medicine. if you wanna get into the discussion of overpriced nutrients i cant believe you'd point out humboldt nutrients. yeah they have allot of different products. the myan microzyme contains only 2 species of fungi, but i bet those two species are really good, and i havnt been able to find them in any other products. they have products for organic gardeners to full line hydro. If you wanna point the finger at companies profiting off of the industry from overpriced nutrients, point the finger at advanced nutrients. connoisseur?, KUSHIE KUSH! i laughed so hard when i heard kushie kush, this company has got newbies thinking that they have to have a product called kushie kush to grow a good kush plant, how reticules is that? i mean kushie kush come on now, with there flashy labels and flashy sounding names and prices that set you back 400 if you want their top of the line stuff. i think
133 sounds pretty nice.

Hey now, let's not get into this. madodah has his perspective, which holds weight, especially for outdoor growers. but growing can be as expensive or cheap as you choose, it all depends on your perspective and goals.

i choose to buy some expensive nutes, and i use some HN products: myco madness is an interesting product with good humic levels. the Mayan is even more interesting for its uniqueness. the widow (only endomyco) is interesting too as I've been reading about trichoderma and bacteria not being beneficial for transplants and early veg. the natural bloom 0-10-0 is also the only plant/rock derived Phos source that is organic (not omri). you can't make your own -zyme so if you use one you gotta buy it, better than drain-o. i prefer molasses over the ES, buy I argue with kushman about that all the time.

post edit: that reminds me, time to brew some mayan... tips?

For you guys using HN, which soils and non-HN additives do you guys use?
grow bloom deuce deuce (organic bases)
equilibrium (organic calmag)
mayan + white widow (organic bacteria+fungi)
honey es (carbs to to feed the beneficials)
Sticky (foliar agent)

Dyna-gro neem (organic foliar)
Humbold County's own Purple max (personally only use as organic foliar)

Medium: Coco. Nothing but coco.

I us HN's Master Line and all addtives. I decided to do a comparison grow. A total of 16 power kush plants.
All plants were grown in MaxiPots 3.27gal, HN soil which is about 70% Peat, remainder is perlite, dolmitic lime, and myco
Plants were grown about 18" in height and topped a few times to allow for multiple colas
Lighting was HPS for sunrise, sun during daylight, HPS for sunset, then sealed in dark room for 12 hours of night. on rainy days they remained under 1000W HPS
4 were given HN's entire lineup (control)
4 were given HN's entire lineup @ half strength with the addition of Humbolt Countys Own Snow Storm, Bush Master, Gravity, & Purple Maxx according to their combined feed schedule (half strength and quarter strength nutes were used as per HCO's guidelines when using all of their products.
4 were given HN's entire lineup with the addition of Kushie Kush for the first 6 weeks at 2ml/gal
4 were given HN's entire lineup with the addition of Flower Dragon for the first 2 weeks at 6ml/gal

Observations...

#1 - not gonna use flower dragon again, at least not on a small plant or perhaps it was the dosage? I may give it a try on one of my outdoor in ground plants. On the paperwork that came with the free quart there are 4 methods to feed with. We chose the powerhitter because of an increased time in vegetative state. i found that flower dragon caused the plant to become more scragly. It weighed out apx the same as the control, however, the flowers were not as packed together and trimming gave off more leafy material the providing more shake as an end result. the plants needed to be tied and supported more than the control group. There was no noticable difference in taste, aroma, or high.

#2 - kushie kush imparts a different flavor and aroma, more of a musky earthy oily note that is desired in kush plants. However it too caused the plant to become more scragly. The flowers were more dense than the dragon group but not as tight as the control group. final weight was greater than the dragon group but less than the control group. nugs looked better once they were trimmed and cured but not as good as the control group. it is something that we will continue to use on true kush plants but the test was really to see if it gives the "kush" flavor. I will say that it does, but to use it as an additive with other nutrient companies...hmm...not sure about that and to use AN's entire lineup?...hmmm...not sure about that either.

#3 - Humbolt Countys Own - Snowstorm, BushMaster, Gravity, PurpleMaxx - Very good results!! We still need to tweak the feed schedule for it. Bushmaster can be used up to 4 times according the bottle. HCO recommend reduced or no nutrient usage if using all 4 of their boosters. Purple Maxx didn't cause any purpling, however, we know from growing the power kush that it doesn't get purple unless it gets really cold. Then the entire plant will turn puple and won't need purplemaxx at all. As far as weight and look. The control group and HCO group had the best shaped plants and flowers. There was very little if any scragly popcorn style nugs. Weight of HCO was greater than the control group but not by a significant amount. There were however more trichomes visable when viewing through a scope. Taste wasn't different nor was aroma. The plants were fed half of the nutrient value of the control group and at times when it called for using straight water we used quarter strenght nutrients. It's interesting to see that by using less nutrients we were able to get the same yield.

#4 - HN - very solid nutrient lineup. The Verde is by far one of my favorite products. It is the basis of our foliar application. We've since then begun a new experiment. We are now comparing HN's Master A/B with Sunleaves Guano Teas as a base nutrient. Still using the remainder of the HN lineup to brew a very nice compost tea. pH is much more stable using the Guano instead of salt based nutrient. We are adding the Humboldt, Flavorful, Prozyme, Roots, Myco Madness, White Widow, Honey ES, Mayan, DueceDuece and Equilibrium. Our comparison is not entirely complete as the HN lineup uses BigUp and Ginormous which are both salt based. We are not using those in the guano tea but are using it in the nutrient resi.

Cheers

Oh ya throw in some HYGrozyme too works great.

im planning on starting a grow with hn grow and bloom with roots organic soil....does anyone think that those two nutrients alone will be enough or would you guys recommend getting the honey es, deuce deuce etc...?

I heard someone. Dropped the bomb does AN really own humbolt nutes if so I don't know about their rep. But I've been using the bloom natural from humbolt and for me , id say it's pretty good pulled a decent yeild of 6 girls low veg time maybe 3 weeks . But all and all the quality was superb compared to the commercialized crap in CO rarely do I really have a true experience , with humbolt I see a difference in taste and quality grew some maple and it's was one of a kind the type of ganja that destroys the cerebrum and has no ceiling what's so ever great earthy skunk dark morbid flav very good the golden goat was unreal very limey reminded me the cherrylime or lime wheelchair but so Natural ran no cleaning agents such as clear ex just a 14 day flush clean water last two weeks og status and it was clean not a bit of sparkle of bad flav, only thing is if u don't smoke like an OG this shit will make your lungs want to explode and I give the credit toward the nutes a very mixed line but I dig the minreals I. The bottom of the bucket it reassures me that I'm staying organic. But I'm switching over to a full humbolt line with a few vitamin b. Additives but all and all I like.

ok, love humboldt natural. it's amazing. I even use it with RO and everything is perfectly fine. What i think the problem is that there isn't a "Guaranteed Analysis" of the rest of the stuff in these nutrients. I've had a very hard time figuring out what are in half the products on the market, but somehow people here know best.
Recent example: Haven't been able to find anything on AquaShield besides it's derived from poultry litter. according to research on RIU and Heisenburg,
Aquashield ($12) The product composition consists of: Bacillus subtilis, Paenibacillus polymxa, Bacillus circulans, and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. This gives you a base population of beneficial bacteria.
No where on the bottle or website for botanicare does it say this information. Only way i guess people know is because of what it used to be marketed as. No clue.

So my guess is that the other micro nutrients aren't guaranteed so they aren't mentioned.

Edit: Grow Natural is also derived from Zinc oxide. Nowhere in the Guaranteed analysis does it say Zinc.

Who knows but I know it smells like rotting fish ass with some crazy funky ass smell and that is telling me it is sure organic but I'm not being a smart ass. Humboldt has been some good stuff for me I like it and it is forgiving.

Since I've started to add Mayan Microzyme to my tea, my plants are gulping up H20 at a higher rate. I went from watering every 1.5 weeks to every 5-6 days. Growth rate has been normal but they're starting to smell like paint thinner+candy at day 21 which is not normal for what I'm been growing. So far I've only applied it to 4.5 gallon super soil pots which were transplanted from quart to 4 gallon pots only a week before switching to 12/12 hours. Weird.
