HUGE heat issue Need help fast

i thought if u have a fan inside blowng around it makes stronger stems?

Depends how the fan is,(I cant really tell from image, is it a blow hole setup) want some air pressure to be hitting the plant and thus forcing it to work to stay up and grow towards the light, this should be able to be accomplished though with the intake fans. If they are not producing this result and you have a heat issue and really not much option besides upgrading. (I was not saying don't have a fan blowing on the plant, just make sure it's not counteracting with the other airflows)

the idea is simply not going to work, you should just wait to move out of your parents' house.

get an ac or duct the ac to it

dont bother with ac just take some of the lights out and get more fans.

what you mean forget the ac.....how can you have 90 plus weather indoors???? your place got no ac .....is the set up in the back in a shed??????????????.........you shouldnt have temp problems with cfl lights....

the setup is at the top of my house. the temps outside the box are 70F. i plan on getting a 250 cfm inline fan to pull hot air out of the box

dammm you mean attic or top bedroom???????????? but dam something up there making those temps go up investigate you talking about 20 degrees higher... its impossible to for lights to make youre temps jump up that high ...if you have a washer and dryer in the house make sure it aint getting exuasted up stairs.........if you have central air you should have duct near there ....fuck it re route the bathroom ac duct up there you dont need ac in the bathroom

yeah its the top bedroom not attic. its usally 70ish 80's here and with lights on it gets up to around 95 100. The dryers and shit are in the basement and are exhausting out of my house so thats a no. I plan on just buying a inline fan and venting hot air to the room next to me =). How loud is a 6" 250 cfm inline fan? Noticeable? yeah so i think dats wehat ima do? think its gonna work?

its loud as hell dont buy it..buy the smallest it only has to be on like 1 time an hour for 5 mins ..youre room is small you dont need big ..

Depends on the DBA, not all fans are the same. Larger fans mean it can push more air with less DBAs being produced but could still be a good amount. That being said a larger fan usually produces more of a low rumble noise while a small fan with the same CFM would produce a dryer type noise which is much harder to mask. Generally speaking though your right, inline fans are pretty loud.

dude, even if you were using only 14 - 23W bulbs, that would be 92Watts per foot. I read that you should be in the range of 40-60 watts. Anybody, please correct me if i am wrong. Therefore; you should probably only be using 7 - 8 bulbs. that will put you in the 50-60 watt range. Concerning heat, they say you should vent a space once per minute (for optimal conditions). That would mean you need at least a 15 cfm fan. you may be able to achieve that with a couple high power computer fans? home depot sells some cheap 4 in inline fans that are like 40 cfm and they are quiet. You can get a light dimmer to bring down the speed to conserve energy and make quieter.

i have 3 computer fans running at 90cfm and its 100+ degrees in there... and someone said its better to go with 80watts per square foot. i tried taking out more lights but it only goes downto like 95 so... i still need a fix. Something quiet that can cool this box

I heard panasonic makes a super quiet fan thats like 85 cfm, but its not cheap, like 200 or something. I have a 6" can fan HO, its like 400 cfm. Its pretty quiet but most of the noise i hear is air noise. I have a grow tent (2.5 x 2.6 x 5.4) so i just pump the air outside the tent and into the house. Im running a 400 W mh and its pretty hot, but i keep the fan on about 50 %power and the tent stays within a couple degrees of temps inside my place.

I still don't fully understand the setup. The way it seems to me though is you need 1 fan blowing in directly at the bulbs and one directly across blowing out, or at least a vent for the other one to move air through. That way any heat the light bulbs produce would leave the box instantly. Then another fan blowing on the plants to circulate air around them, and again another vent so no air can sit in the bottom and heat up.

I had good luck putting one strong fan blowing air out at the top. the heat rises and you don't want it sturring around the plants. You can draw new fresh air from the bottom, through the plants, through your lights, and then out the top.
