Huckleberry Meringue, PuTang, MAC1: 200 watts no veg DWC, 3x3

Y’all please post in this grow journal, in contravention of the strange conventions of RIU.

Some sort of a gram per watt not-scientific experiment.

New flower run starting today with barely rooted clones, 12/12 starting tonight, as described in title.

2x Dynasty Huckleberry Meringue #11 (hunted by moi) on the left. Mass Madical PuTang select cut, front right. MAC1 back right.

200 watts of cheap quantum board LED, no veg time, DWC, 3x3 tent, using homemade nutes.

These Hygger air pumps are the best value on the market at $50, because they are 10 watts and fucking quiet, as opposed to those awful loud direct impingement air pumps a lot of hydro folks use. Good airstones are also very important, hence the pic.

A simple, useful optimization.


12/12 starts at 7pm.

I am mostly interested in how much I can pull running 12/12 from this cheap chinese lamp, the cheapest QB fixture I could find in the 200-250 watt range on Amazon, $199.

Its $99 for (4) qb120s from HLG on Amazon. Driver will run you about $90 shipped to your door if you're in the US. Running them wide open would give you about 280 watts, or 31 watts per sq ft. Right now you're gonna be at 22 watts per sq ft if your board is running at 200 watts.

I tend to run fairly light, 700-900ppm (1.4-1.8ec) but have run this mix as high as 1200ppm/2.4ec without problems. I also run a wide range of pH without worry. Just a standard AB formula and fairly soft tap water, the only additive I use is Great White. Attached is a basic breakdown of my nutes at 1200ppm, I run more N than most commercial products for cannabis. It grows trees, I usually don’t veg, just clone and flip, otherwise they get rather large. Pics of Wedding Mints from Sin City at flip and at four weeks weeks, current run.

Warning, butthurt rant by OP ahead, leaving it in for posterity. Apologies to @GrassBurner after the fact.

Thanks for mansplaining, Mr. Wizard, but I know all that. I own about 100 grow light fixtures of varying types and sizes, most of them are LEDs. I have... hrm...a grip of quantum boards, mostly RSpec, you ain’t gonna learn me much I don’t already know about the LED market. I have three grows running in different locations with a total of five flowering areas, most of my LEDs are employed outside of my home. I don’t say that because I am a fancy lad, I say it because you seem to be under the impression this is my only grow or this is my first year growing.

This tent is my playground where I fuck around, it will soon be used for seed runs. I didn’t want to build another fixture, I wanted to see what I could buy for two bills. I hope that’s acceptable to you, even though I clearly don’t know what I am doing.

Also, you forgot about the aluminum sheet, so yeah I could get slightly more light for slightly more money and build it myself, herpity derpity.

I order most stuff these days direct from China, that’s the cheapest way, but obviously takes some time. We just ordered 20 more QBs for delivery near end of summer.

What a buzzkill. I was stoned, and this thread looked like one from a noob asking how much yield hes gonna get from his cheap light in a big tent. I'm new to all this and thought I could help with the yield question from what little I've learned. I didnt pay attention to the fact that your a well known member, like I said I'm stoned cruising a forum You wanted to know what you could buy for 2 Bill's, I shared what I got for 2 Bill's. Yeah, killed my buzz a bit too. We can still be friends. I talk shit when I get defensive. Not precisely defensive in this case, what I felt was “here’s another person who assumes everyone has the same goals.”

I wanted a finished product, not another project, but we understand each other now. Best wishes, I can see how my thread could appear like another “about a pound” thread.

sir and or maam, I have a pack of OBS and a Pig Whistle pack..but I bought my pack in like 2018 ish, that stuff looks delectable..does it just crumble beautifully? if you grew em out, variation in Pheno's?
