hremie seeds

On a grow I had awhile back my 2 ladies went hermie on me:cuss:, no male was ever grown in that room, to my surprise they turned out pretty good, nice big buds but ended up with alot of seeds.

My question is this do think the ratio of male to female would lean towards the female side do to the fact they came from a hermie or is there no diff. between them and a regular seed?

I believe that if a slightly hermie plant has a seed then its more likely female due to whatever might've happened, stress or whatever might've forced the hermie in the first place. I'm just saying this because I've grown a few hermie seeds and they've all came out female and very nice. :)

If that is the case, why do people complain about hermies. Now here me out, wouldnt you want to grow a hermie, I mean they can ruin your crop yes but why not grow them in a sep. room, especially if you bought seeds from a bank.

i believe that when a female hermies and creates seeds, the seeds themselves can have hermie tendencies....so unless you are GREAT grower and no stress happens you are good.....most grow more than one plant. 1-hermie is NOT worth ruining the other plants potential. NOW if time is on your hands...take the hermie and let it pollinate another female...those seeds themselves will be FEM seeds with no hermie traits. I have grown out hermies that happened late flower and had nice smoke...but hermie early on and its not so great

they dont come FROM hermies bro.. they come from taking a hermie and pollinating a 100% female with the pollen from the hermie...

if you start with all females.. and one goes hermie.. you wont get any males.. you have a better chance of a hermie than a female from the hermie.. but all the other females that get pollinated in the room with produce fem'd seeds...

I understand a hermie has less production do to the fact that it will use its energy to produce the seed. So if i understand this correctly they will turn out to be either hermie or female, but lean more to the hermie side. But if you cross pollinate a hermie with a female plant you end up with feminized seeds.

Here is my thinking, the hermie was a White Widow, I ordered some PPP and Wonder Woman feminized(hopefully they will be). I want to take one of each 1 PPP, 1 Wonder Woman, and 1 of the hermie seeds grow all 3 in a sep. room(so i dont contaminate my normal grow rooms) in an attempt to create feminized seeds.

Is my thinking correct and do you think this will work?

it will work in theory yes... but personally i would not try pollinating at all.. i would just buy fem'd seeds.. theres more to it than just taking pollen and putting it on a female.. i am sure of that.. just not sure what all it is.. whether pollination time has any affect.. where you pollinate for best results... stuff like that.. do some research and see and try.. it cant hurt.. but imho you are better off just buyin fem'd seeds until you know more about genetics and the such..

Hmm maybe this will clear up some things. I've grown twice in this year and for both grows I've came out with a few hermies. For both those hermies, I believe they didn't like cross polinate because unlike male plants, hermies may have 1 hermie leaf per... Bigger bud sites (*i.e topped buds) This is where I get most of my hermies at. Also from some experience, It seems like my strongest strains (I had before a Goo strain, and now is my Kush strain) would turn hermie. (3 out 4 kush's are hermies right now, same mother, the last one is a late bloomer and kinda small.) The pollination usually happens to themselves. I seen right now maybe a few very undeveloped seeds but I'm not worrying about it. As for quality of the plant from being hermie, I don't exactly see much of a difference. I'll grow hermie plants, keep them and harvest them and come out with maybe 10 seeds total and when I've tried to grow those seeds, They were all female. Hermies are just the goods/bads of nature. They work in both ways pending on your point of view.
