I don't understand how tax places think they will find you extra money and they always show the dumbasses "they got me an EXTRA $2,000 back!!!!". How retarded are you to completely miss something large enough to alter your taxes by $2,000? You overlooked something MAJOR. I have confidence that there is no way any tax preparer can legally claim more deductions than I can in turbo tax. I don't trade in stocks. I have 1 legit job with taxable income. 1 house. A couple bank accounts. Turbo tax takes you step by step. So easy a caveman can do it.
It's because people forget the earned income tax credit...quite a bit...

explain...
it's for people that work but don't earn a whole lot, especially if you have kids.

for example, i only worked 3 months this year and earned $4k and took no unemployment. i got a $300 credit from the earned income tax credit.

last year, i only worked 3 months but took unemployment. because i took unemployment, which was not earned income, it reduced the amount i could take to about $50 or so.

go to page 13 if you are filling out an EZ and read up, not everyone qualifies. and if you are not filling out an EZ, it gets a tad more complex.
