HPS Setup wont turn ON

Okay so I am getting ready to turn on my second setup in my flowering room and for some reason it wont go on. I tried turning it on yesterday and it worked but today it wont do anything. I tried different outlets, surge protectors, and even rooms to no avail.

I have a hydrofarm reflector with a lumatek ballast so I purchased the BAASR Adaptor-Hydrofarm/Lumatek Ballast to Sunlight Reflector which looks like this:

http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/baasr-adaptorhydrofarmlumatek-ballast-to-sunlight-reflector-p-2113.html

and in addition I purchased a 120v power cord as the other one was only a 240v and incompatible with the surge.

The setup was working yesterday with all these components so I am unsure as to why it stopped 24 hours later. The ballast is new, btw.

Yeah it could be the bulb but if u checked everything else just call the company and see what they have to say.I'm sure they will replace if anything

The bulb worked yesterday as well.... As far as I can tell there isnt any humming coming from the digital ballast. And the ballast is new, received 3 days ago

Sometimes the older lumateks can eat bulbs. I was that some of the units that are new fail a few hous after being used. Most units are fine, but the guy at the hydro shop said that occationally they had issues. The older models only liked certain bulbs. Also make sure the bulb is all the way screwed in. There is a spring thing on the last 1/4 turn that makes it difficult to get in.

If you plugged a 240 Volt ballast into 120V circuit you probably fried the ballast. If it came with a 240V cord then it probably was a 240V ballast.

When I oredered my 400 from htg my bulb blew out 3 days after receiving it I called them up they replaced it with a bulb that cost@9dollars that blew out the same day.I went to home depot bought a 400 watt hps bulb and its astill working had it for almost a year.So it could be your bulb or it can be the ballast just call the company back and explain to them what happened.

See if there is a sticker on the ballast that says "OCV", which stands for open circuit voltage + or - a certain percentage.
If you have a volt meter, test the voltage at the socket. There will be a metal tab that contacts the end of the bulbs base and then there are the metal female threads that screws into the socket.
Being VERY CAREFUL!!!!, test the AC voltage at the socket at these 2 points. It should be within the parameters on the sticker. If not, your ballast might be bad.
Mind you, I have not done this with an E-ballast myself.
So just check that and post results.
P.S. See if there a reset or overload button on there somewhere.

Good luck

If its a 240 ballast you can't plug it in 120 go to where you plug in you dryer in your house and plug it in and see if it works......
