hi there can anyone tell me weather a 250w mh bulb or a 250hps bulb would be better for vegging? I now have 3 200w clf's to in my set up.wanna add to it with either a mh or hps bulb.

Cheers.

Hey! If you have the money to go both, meaning an mh and a hps light, do it, but I use an hps for both and have no real problems and highly recommend it for those on a budget. Heres a nice (HPS) one with an enhanced bulb too.

like videoman40 advised, if you can afford both, do it. mh would be used for veg, and hps would be used for flowering. though if you can only afford one, i would go (am going with currently) a hps for both veg and flower. i bought the one videoman40 linked to and it's a good setup for beginners =)

Keep in mind that you don't need to buy two systems, you can just get the HPS system and buy an MH conversion bulb. At the link videoman posted they have a good deal for the HPS system that comes with the MH conversion bulb.

It could be beneficial in getting more direct light to some of the lower bud sites. Use the soft whites when flowering (lower color temp).

use the mh for veg and the hps for flowering, if you ever get another 30 quid spare cud just get another ballast n reflector then you cut your grow time down.

Alternatively have 2 grow areas, both flowering and when the lights are to go off in one room swap the system over to the other room and take the veggers with ya
