HPS & MH during Veg and Flowering

Hi guys,

What are your thoughts on mixing HPS & MH during Veg and Flowering. Today I turned one HPS and 1 MH in my Veg room. Thinking doing 6 HPS and 6 MH in my floweing room. Just want to hear some thoughts from experienced/knowledgeable growers.

Note: All my bulbs are 1000w. My ballast is dim-able. 600 - 750 - 1000 - Super Lumens.

ok so the pro's go with mh during veg and switch to hps during flower or both during flower, personally i have used mh for flower and got almost the same results from all hps.. but there is more red in the light spectrum during the later days of summer to fall. so on that note and from experience and i use the same ballast that your using i take a 1000wtt hps and add a 400wtt mh during flower so there is the whole spectrum but more red then blue's.. hope this helps KEEP ON GROWIN....

i suggest this because if you rotate MH and HPS in each light your not going to get the full dual spectrum on each plant, one plant will be dominated by the blue and the next will be dominated by the red. if you go with a dual arc bulb you will get both spectrums evenly distributed on each plant.

just a quick disclaimer, i dont have any experience with these myself but im thinking of getting one for my 1000w cab. they seem to have great reviews

the only thing that i noticed is its a600w HPS and a 400w MH in one bulb, im not sure if it will provide the lumen output as a 1000w bulb.....so something to look into

I've always hated reading into mh v hps because there are so many people who disclaim one over the other.
My belief is if ur gonna do one do it thru the whole cycle.
I believe they stretch when switching to flower and swapping bulb cuts out half the spectrum they usually get with mh and they are stretching looking for the light. If that makes sense.
I ran mh thru out this grow and I got better weight and frostier buds this grow. Nothing crazy tho.. And mh runcooler.
I believe it's all preference but for me I think mh all the way thru. Maybe Simone hasn't shed the light to me tho(pun intended )
