The sun systems lec 315 isn't the cheapest light although you can find some decent deals on it. Depends. What area are you working with? I run a 400w HPS in a 2x3' space in my closet lined with white reflective plasticwill be starting my first grow and im stuck as to which lights to go for.
looking to use only one set of lights either HPS or MH for veg and flower period and will be using autoflower seeds.
my question is which one shall i go for? 600w HPS or 400w MH

iv been getting mixed comments regarding using MH for veg then HPS for flower so to save myself from any headache im just using one type of bulb, im only starting out anyway and my expense is pretty low so i may try the MH and HPS on my next grow

It's a worthwhile investment for sure. My 1-st experimental run gave me nearly 3oz. of prime smoke. The lamp more than payed for itself on the 1-st run.
Rich, if you only go with one bulb, choose HPS. More Lumens, plus a flowering (red, orange) spectrum. You can use this lamp from seedlings to finished buds - entire cycle. Hope this clears things up for ya,

For me, if I could only get one bulb, I'd be all over the 600MH, doesn't seem to stretch the plant as much as the HPS.will be starting my first grow and im stuck as to which lights to go for.
