hps for veg?

yessir, but they sent me super silver haze instead of blueberry, but it was free so cant complain lol

so i just put 3 damp paper towls wraped with different strains in them, 4 bubblegum, 4 super silver haze, 3 mazar put them in my closet in a singe cup with a black shirt over them to keep them from light, i cant find dark in my apartment lol but building my grow room today, its basically all built just need to get the plywood and put in there.

defiantely get some pictures up and maybe a journal once you start. i have some mazar/afghan seeds(free seeds from marijuana-seeds.nl are mazar/afghan) and ive been waitin to grow them. kludge i know has 2 that hes growin right now

ya mazar is going to be awesome, i cant wait for it, i dunno if i like the super silver haze, since it grows tall but still looks like some good smoke.

wat potting mix should i use ta start scotts?

Fox farms ocean forest and happy frog are both real good, a little pricey though. I use "steins indoor potting mix with perlite" it has almost no nutes in it at all and maintains moisture levels well. I don't feed for the first three to four weeks in this soil then I start the fox farm liquid series and it works real good.

I would avoid scotts regular potting mix, if that kind of stuff is all you can find by you at least go with the mg organic mix(also made by scott). I have used it several times and had no problems with it I just like the steins water retention better.

just got back from home depot got a big bag of miracle grow organic choice(couldnt find any others, and figured it would do for now)

Whats wrong with the scotts soil? I had some real issues with miracle gro soil but it wasn't the organic, it was moisture control with like 18-18-21NPK i think... I'll never use that stuff again, ever

scotts is fine. imo miracle grow anything is a nightmare. scotts is good soil to start with. you should be all ready to go. good luck

Man I have to join the "What the F&*K is wrong with MG?!!!" club. OK I get you "all natural" guys wanna use F'in Fox Farm. Go ahead and pay $20 plus for a small container of it. Then I hear the "MG gives your weed a really bad taste.", crowd chime in. Flush your shit then. H2O is a chemical and so are the nutes that use worm castings and bird crap and bat guano. Are you that dumb really? Everything you're using is a "chemical" just because it's formed naturally doesn't mean it isn't. If Joe from Alaska wants to try his first grow with a bike reflector a 50Watt Incandescent and a bit of dirt from his yard to try to grow bag seed let the kid try. Don't keep trying to sell Fox Farm products. (Only picking on them becuase most posts list them). Other than that "Joe" keep on trying whatever works for you. Good luck.

haha thanks man, i will fur sure get different soil when i upgrade boxes, but its not the reg miracle grow soil, its the organic shit, i mean it might not be that much better but its worth a try lol, if it dont work, learn from ur mistakes

and also i got the daytime bulbs that are 6500k is that okay for veg?
i forget wat it was 6500 for veg 2500 or some shit for flower?

Buy a Purple UV light for your Jimmy Hendrix poster and put that shit in there too man try everything and everything you can and "F" what everyone says. It doesn't take a lot of skill to grow a plant successfully. It does take skill to get the most out of them and you will "get it" over time.

Just remember Blue spectrum for Veg, and Red spectrum for flower and you'll be OK.

Don't tell anyone, but if I don't see anything break soil by day 3 I dig the fuckers up and see if they cracked, then move em closer to the surface

so i just put my light in and i dont think its enough, i am prob getting my hps in a week or so, but just tryin ta use these T12 flourecent til then.....i got 2 40 watt T12's on one shop light, should i get 2 shop lights so i will have 4 T12 40 watters??
or do u think this will work for a week or two? I just checked them and i saw them break surface a little in the paper towel, prob tomorro night they will be ready to plant.

those two tubes should be good until you get another light but if u want to veg under floros get 2 more sets and that shoould be good.mix the spectrum with red and blue bulbs and that would be fine.

alright well wat i got now is 2 daytime 40 watt bulb which i beleive are blue ayy?

yes thats good to sprout seedlings its not enuff for 8 plants though they will all strecth trying to get it
