hps bulbs

hey guys i have a 600w sunmaster with a 600w hps hortilux bulb and today when i came home from work i seen my bulb was a white color instead of an orange color. Now ive seen this before but it went away but this time it seems like its going on a lot longer. Would this mean my bulb is on its way out? Or is an energy/power problem?

when the bulb is first starting up its a white color then gets more orangish.
i would get another bulb and see if it still happens. and label the old one and save it for a spare. if the new bulb works perfect then toss that old one and buy another new one for a spare. sucks to be stuck without a light as times when you need it most.

could be you entered the room just as the light was coming on? if not then
sit and watch your grow for a while and see if the light goes on and off every 5 or 10 minutes. it takes awhile for it to come back on. if it goes on and off get a new bulb.

double check your timer to make sure its set properly.

give it some time to warm up
