So hortilux is being sketch and is establishing artificially high prices at all distributors now.
Whats another high quality hps bulb for digital ballasts that you guys have had good results with?

I've just bought a DIGI-LUX 400W HPS, as its has the same spec as the Eye Hortilux Super HPS.. minus the extra 30W.. but is actually meant to work on a Digital Ballast, the digital ballasts, and Digi-lux bulbs run at a higher frequency than the Hortilux and old skool magnetic ballasts.. and because of this the Digi-Lux are alot brighter and give outstanding Lumen projection.

Also its a know fact that Hortilux bulbs need replacing alot because they are being run on Digital ballasts and the clash causes them to flicker ever so slightly.....and after a while this reduces Lumen output and eventually kills the bulb!

However Digi-Lux have worked past this and essentially has the power of the Hortilux but transmitted at a higher frequency, through the power of a digital ballast and out performing the Hortilux in the process..

The bulb plus postage came to a Staggering £91.99 ... but thats the cheapest I could find it :) ~ nevermind.. at least I have it now :) !!!

I was previousley going to go with Hortilux, but after stumbling on this info, Digi-lux is now 'the New Hortilux' of the digital generation :) - STELTHY :leaf:

do you use digilux? what can you say about it?
I swear why Digilux bulbs. The 600 watt HPS puts out 95,000 lumens. that's (20k lumens more than normal). The MH puts outs 75,000 (standard).. But it has a spectrum of yellows that you can start and finish with. I took the MH out after week 2 of flower and replaced it with the HPS.

I get a lot of digilux bulbs returned, I am using the new lumetek bulb and it's very good. Has High par which is what a plant sees.
a lumen is the amount of light measured at one square foot around a candle. It is what people see, not plants.

I have a digilux for my digital ballast and hortilux for my magnetic...(I only have 2 x 1000watts) I like them both, never had an issue with either bulb... but I also don't deal with them all the time.

That's another good bulb from what I have heard back from some guys using them right now - nice.

i just picked up some sun pulse bulbs.. they only come in mh, but they come like cfls, in that you can get them in any range of kelvin ratings from about 3000k all the way up to 10k, so you can buy one for veg and one for flowering.. a guy on another forum recommended them to me when i asked this very same question over there..
i like the idea of flowering under mh's as the contain more uv light than hps, and are supposed to give better quality bud than hps, if a slightly diminished yield from what i've read..
i'm still waiting for them to arrive, and i'll surely be doing a write up on them when i get them and see what all i think of them..

Plantmax, they are essentially the same damn thing as a hortilux but way less than half the price. Solid deal for the dough.

I love the SUNMASTER DUAL SPECTRUM range of lamps. I currently use a 600w in my Lumatek Dimmable 600. Very nice lamps with enhanced blue spectrum to keep everything loveley and green til the end.

I also use a FUTURE TECH 400w MH for Vegging and some early flowering time.
