HPS and MH in veg

What's up RIU...I'm here from another board where the experienced growers have seemed to flee, and the noobs have seemed to flock....not to mention the damned "Server is too busy" messages...anyone who know's what I'm talking about speak up!!!

Anyway, let me preface my question with some background on my set up, and circumstances. I'm growing in my closet, using one corner of it, that encompasses about 8 sq ft of floor space, and about 7" of headroom. Mylar surrounds the entire area, and the closet is very well ventilated, heat is never an issue. I've got two 250/w HPS set-ups, and have a HPS->MH conversion bulb for one of them. I'm growing using bagseeds, and I'm using Gardener's Gold Organic Potting, and the Neptune's Harvest line of nutes. I've been very succesful with previous grows using these provisions. So I know that lumens are KING, and I know that MH is best for veg, and HPS is for flower. My previous indoor grow started with this single conversion bulb, and when flower was initiated, I used two of the HPS. So this time around, I was thinking about vegging under the conversion and the HPS. Are the additional lumen's going to make that much of a difference, even considering that the HPS spectrum is less than ideal for Veg?

All comments and opinions are welcomed and encouraged.
Thanks!!

Metal halide is underrated. It keeps your girls tight and supplements spectrum. How could you lose?

Are you doin it yet? Where's the pics?

Still does not answer my question! Does adding HPS to MH in Veg make a dramatic difference? I know it adds lumens, but the spectrum is off a bit...will it still help or am i wasting electricity?

Seeds are germinating right now, you guys really want to see pics of that?

You can flower entirely with a MH if you want and end up with good smoke. You will not offset anything by using both or just the mh. The halides still give off a fair amount of the useable light spectrum, so there's no adverse effects from it.
