HPS and Ballasts

Hey guys, I'm a new grower and I'm trying to get my plans right.

I decided to go with the 400 watt HPS bulb, but when it comes to picking the right ballast I'm lost.

I got the Home Depot Phillips Clear Bulb and it says, "For use only with ANSI S51 ballast".

I took someone's recommendation to get the cheapest bulbs from 1000bulbs.com and their ballasts look pretty cheap too so I think I'll go there for it, but I don't know which one to get for this bulb.

no there not dude your crazy bro no offense if you can prove that to me then that's a different story, an haven't seen a successful LED grow yet

People do successfully grow with LEDs just not as successful as people who grow with HIDs. Don't get me wrong LED technology is amazing but it hasn't advanced enough to be considered a replacement much less an adequate competitor of HID lighting. If someone that is reading this has a pure, i mean only LED grow from seed to smoke and and dry weight please post it. To date ive seen a couple on here but they did not yield nearly as much as a HID grow would have.

yea dude im sure people have grown with LED's but when i say successful i mean something to be proud of in yield not a lousy 24grams you know what i mean idk LED's are expensive for no reason save your money for something worth it man.

yea and whats the wattage on that like 90w come on now you can get your self a bad ass 600w MH/HPS for that shame on you man what ever its your money.

Bro im with you man, I'm in the HID camp. I just want the LED people out there to post some bad ass LED only grows. They say they can do so. I've always been like show me the bud. know what i mean?

You can get a 600w HPS +digital ballast +reflective hood for under 300.00 so .....what's your money worth to you?

Ok that's not impressive in my book only little over a pound of dried bud from 20+ plants? You can get a pound of bud from 2 to 3 plants with a HID. But anyways Like i said before the LED technology maybe the future for indoor growing but the technology has not advanced enough yet. That is unless your Mr.Moneybags and can drop 3000 to 4000 for one LED light panel.

Well I am not anywhere close to being a Master Grower. But I do have some grows under my belt. If you have any more questions, I would be more than happy to answer them.

exactly bro glad you use your mind big ups to you man seriously in that video they had like 20 plants with a 600w LED panel that cost like $2000 dollars and got almost a pound when with a 600w hps that cost $300 and you'll be set cuz thats a badass one to and get the same amount in yield but with only 4 plants an thats not even trying to put in work in your ladies, lol i don't know this is funny i just hate when people try to put up an argument with something they can't prove but hey it's kool bro it your shit .
