More light is always good, especially hps for flower.

if you can afford it, get a cheap MH for vegging and upgrade to a hortilux hps after about 3 months of running that cheap bulb
Get a dual balast 600 for MH bulb for veg and 1k hps for . Then Your have some boom tingIve been using CFL @ around 22000 lumens to grow with great success.
Im thinking about purchasing:
This setup is only $150, cheaper then my CFL bulbs. My question is do you think this is an upgrade or downgrade? Is this sufficient for 2 plants?

keep in mind this will create a lot more heat than your cfls which may bring additional costs to cool

r u for real or just a little dim will cover 4-6 plants and knocks a cfl bulb on its arse-)...make sure its 600-1000wIve been using CFL @ around 22000 lumens to grow with great success.

Yup heat might be a problem. If not go for it. Also elct can be high too. $150 for me to run12/12

Get the 600 w then. He can use hps. But he has cfl. And they work okay for veg too. HPs can be use for veg too.
