Flojo awesome post bro. That helps a lot. I don't have room in the budget for co2 so I'm definitely going to go with the 600. Efficiancy is what I'm aiming for. Thanks again bro. That info helped a lot.

FloJ - 600s and 1000s have the same exact lumen/watt ratio - so the 600 is not the most efficient period... but it is 1 of - 600s and 1Ks give the most bang for the buck over any other lighting system.

well if you look at the EYE hortilux bulb which is the one that I use a 600w produces 87000 mean lumens... 87000/600= 126.6666 lumens per watt

the 1000w produces 126000 mean lumens which 126000/1000= 126 lumens per watt.

now while the lumen per watt ratio is minimal, the 600 is still a tad more efficient. keep in mind this is with the eye hortilux bulb which is the most efficient bulb on the market. if you look at some lesser bulbs the lumen per watt ratio difference can be much higher

for the size of your grow room , I would definately go with the 600 watt... not saying the 1000 watt wouldn't be better, because it would be better, If you had a larger grow room... for efficiency the cost it would be to run that in your grow room wouldn't be worth the extra amount of light.. get the 1000 watt if you can make your grow room bigger..

im running a 600w hps sunsystem w/ a cooled hood at the moment. if you can keep your temp steady your good to go. your gonna want some kind of cooled hood on either light you decide to run in your space. im on the over kill side, my 600 is on 5 1/2 square feet, but i have very good ventilation. my exhaust is 265 cfm and surprisingly ive been running it now for a year with low complications. im doing a seed run right now with bcseedkings 6 kush and 2 blueberry clones. its going well, i only vegged them for a week and now they have been under the 600 for 1 week and 1 day. overall i personally prefer the 600. its easier on electric bills than the 1000, easier to cool than the 1000, and you can get the 600 closer to your plants than the 1000. IMO the 1000 really wouldnt give you a whole lot more when it comes to yeild than the 600 would in your space. if you want to expand your space the 1000 could be great.

i would say heat would be the biggest issue. make sure you have a good exhaust fan to cool that bulb.

thanks guys. I actually bought a 600 watt cool tube last night. I'm workin on adding all the venting now. I don't think I'll really have a big problem keeping cool. Thanks again.

a 600 is alot better than 1000's i think personally because of the heat and the fact that if you use two 600's you have two points of light
