Its your money. Personnally I don't like the hydroton. Its heavy and messy, needs to be rinsed before use. Cleaning it for re-use is even worse. System probably works and when you get an apartment you'll need an extra bedroom to set it up. Doesn't address clones or mothers. VV

ditto, except for 415 pounds you can get a much nicer hydroponics system that will probably cover everything

I would think you would want to have the buckets farther apart. If they have to stay sitting on that tray..I would think that would be very limiting to the size of plant you could grow.

I'm kinda a noob at this but I have read alot of stuff on the internet, I'm not good at building stuff so what would you guys recomend me getting instead?

I believe you would be able to build anything you need. Just get in the mindset to do it. Do some more research on what you're planning on building and know what you want your end outcome to be. Look at designs of other systems and draw a set of plans for yourself, then shop it up.

Should end up being cheaper than from a company and you will feel better knowing you made it by yourself.
