k so i've wanted to do this for a long time but i've never had the money. now i do, and im gonna start a grow. i just wanna post what im gonna do here so i can see what people think about it and get input. i've done my research, but i just wanna make sure im gonna be doin everything right.

im gonna buy 6 27 watt daylight cfls. the color temp is 6500 kelvin. im gonna use these for seedlings and vegetative stage, with the lights on constantly. while watering everyday of course.
im gonna hook up the 6 lights into two main lamps. and i wanna get those light connectors where you screw it in, nd it has two more light connectors coming from it. i dnt know what they're called, if someone can tell me thats be good.
then when they get tall enough, im gonna put them into flowering and by cutting the lights to 12-12 light cycle. im gonna take away 4 of the daylight cfls and put in 4 27w soft white. so it'll be 2 dl, and 2 sw.
im gonna be growing 3 plants, in my attic with mylar surrounding all sides of the plants. im gonna have a small fan blowing on the lights and the plants for sturdier stems.

so thats what im gonna do, input is welcome.

whats the deal with ppl wanting lots of small wattage bulbs, sounds weak- not to bash- i am a newb by all respects. But I have a 400 watt mh and hps set up. So i can use just one bulb at a time- mh to veg and hps to flower, its the perfect wattage and lumen's for a 4x4 area and can grow a number of plants. It definitely produces heat- but the glass lensed and air cooled versions can do a number to reduce the heat. It just seems like one bulb is enough?

If i am wrong, please tell me?

I understand more bulbs can provide greater distribution to lower branches, but that doesnt make it a very unique advantage- as good reflective surface can do that as well.

As long as it isn't incandescent i guess lol

really man....

anyways spliffs the daylights you have should be fine for the vegging, however, you may want to get more bulbs to flower, if your planningon 3 plants i would say 3-4 bulbs per plant. you can always get more later thou
also careful with temps in your attic i dunno about you but its already hot as hell outside for me, so buy a thermometer
what soil/ nutes will you be using?
