I always use distilled water. But with distilled water you must add cal-mag every time you water. I recommend general organics cal mag.

This is non sufficient as well.... Distilled water is good for germination and seedlings due to the fact that distilled water has very little to no total dissolved solids or TDS. In fact, the best thing to use is either well water with a reverse osmosis filtration system or regular water ran through the reverse osmosis process. The problem with using distilled water during a plants more mature stages of growth, is that non distilled water holds certain solids that are beneficial to the plant. Like iron, magnesium, calcium, so on and so forth... Please do not misinform people that are trying to get real help.

You can get a cheap pH pen off eBay for about $30.00... But once again cheap usually means having to be replaced.
If you just need to get by for now... Grab a cheap one but in the meantime save and get a good one.

You can go the cheap root with a drops for $10-$20. Don't use strip they're too hard to read. You can buy a cheap pen for $20 off eBay although a "branded" cheap one runs $80. PH up and down will run you about $10 per bottle.

Did you read what you wrote? Smh... All you said you add is calcium magnesium supplement... Thats singular not plural. There are many other solids in non distilled water that CalMag does not cover... I think before giving your advice you go do a bit more reading yourself.

So with the ph kit, use reverse osmosis water? Would I be fine just using some distilled water or some osmosis water without adjusting the ph for now until I can get the ph kit?

Depends on the plant, the medium, and the water. Get a PH "kit" either way, you'll need it. As for whether or not you'll need to PH your feed will depend on the medium you're using and that strain you're growing. My setup I'm learning that not PH'ing means perfect results with feed. This is because my water just happens to match my mediums characteristics. I'm using a soilless mixture that tends to dip into the low regions of 5 PH. As I need to keep the medium around 5.8-6.5 range I can water safely with my tap water, left out for minimum 24hrs to acclimate/evaporate, with a PH of 7.5. Before anybody bites my head off, feeding at less has caused irreversible damage to my current grow. This is comparing to the same setup, same strain grown last time.

I give advice that I know works. Perhaps I should've been more specific on the watering. I use distilled water with calmag+ for watering in between feeding. Calmag covers the calcium magnesium but like you said there are some such as iron that it doesnt. However, /most/ commonly used fertilizers that cannabis growers use contains iron. Such as the one I use, biothrive. All my plants are healthy with my feeding schedule so ofcourse ill give it as advice to a new grower. Everyone has their own way of growing and I'm not saying RO water isn't good or not better in some cases but distilled water works fine if you take the necessary steps to make sure there aren't any deficiencies.

In your case, using General Organics line it is completely organic and contains many of the essential solids beneficial to the plant... Are you using just Biothrive? Or any of the other supplements in the GO lineup?
