I still use a 250w MH like the one he linked put into a ballast box and hood for my 3ft x 4ft veg area, so I dont know why he would wast electricity on a 400w MH.

Next thing you will need after one of those 250wMH is a 250w or 400w HPS light.

If you cant afford both then just get a 250w or 400w HPS.

my grow rooms are 3.5 by 2 by 7 feet and I use a 400 watter in both with very nice results. I just harvest my last bagseed grow and averaged 2 oz per plant at about 32 inches tall, I was pretty happy with myself far from the greatest but my point is I don't think it is a waste I had a 250 watter in that size room with much much poorer results.
