How was whistling invented?

Straight up question, how was whistling invented? Any ideas? When, how, why? I was watching honey i shrunk the kids, and thought of the question. Fucking weird eh? There are many different kinds too, whistle with your lips, with your fingers, who the fuck thought of sticking their fingers in their mouth to create a louder whistle??? WTF>!>!>! MIND BLOWN!!!!!!!!!!

Probably came about serendipitously; kids just blowing and playing around and when their lips pursed, a cool sound came out. The rest caught on, maybe initially for amusement, and they found there were ways to make it louder and perhaps developed it for hunting strategy and the like...
