How useful is mylar?

I have some mylar (cheap flimsy one I found in an emergency case in my car) that I put in my grow box but it just feels like its making my grow box warmer. How effective is it? And is it known to increase heat? I think it make my grow box 84-86 degrees is that too much already?

Also is this dollar store gift wrap mylar or useful mylar?

Mylar is used as blankets to keep people warm in emergency situations. you can see marathon runners get draped with one after they cross a finish line so they dont get too cold to quickly. Its notoriously effective for reflecting heat back. Go white paint.

Okay, but my grow box is a drawer. The drawers have white tint glass frames that you can see through if there is a piece of clothing pressed against the glass so it's transparent. What I've done is cover the glasses with cardboard from the inside and put windshield sun reflectors inside the drawer. It looks like it's not that hot inside actually, it's at 80 right now and I don't think it will go higher than 84 if I leave the drawer closed long. Is 80-84 still too hot? I haven't put a fan inside yet. Right now since I've done so much work and covered all the leaking light I am satisfied but eventually I want to take out the cardboard and sunshade and place maybe white cardboard around the drawer (I need something thick to block light).

Is it safe to post pics on here? Pics of my plant and grow box? I'm starting to feel more cautious.

The feds aren't going to track down every person who posts a picture of a grow. Just dont put your face, name or anything stupid :P

80-84 isn't ideal but its not gonna kill your plants. ideally it should be in the 70s.

Get a small fan in there. I'm assuming you have a inline or duct fan pull fresh air in. Air circulation is important

I don't think I can pull off setting up anything that will pull air in/out. I'm relying on putting a fan in there. I heard something about heat having to do with low co2 levels and a fan helps produce it.

Setting up air circulation would be an issue because it might mess with the stealthy set up and costs $$$.

If the plant can deal with 80-84 degrees, possibly lower once I put a fan in, I can also open the drawer throughout the day for fresh air.

Besides, marijuana is a resilient plant ;)

Like I said its not going to kill your plant its just not IDEAL. I have no idea what your grow looks like

So if you don't plan on spending any $ then just what exactly do you plan to do about odor control when it comes time for flowering? Just curious.

Flat white is better than glossy. However, it was suggested to me here to use exterior white satin for ease of cleaning and durability. Although it probably only comes in a gallon...maybe paint a fence too

Yeah man, gotta get fresh air moving through there. It will stink as mentioned, but they also need a fresh supply of air and a way to get rid of the off gasses.

Nothing will mess.with stealth more than cannabis in flower with no carbon filter.

First grow, $50 to cover walls of veg and flower cabs in mylar. I siliconed the osb uderneath it so the seams are now "unpaintable" I know because I teies to paint the ceiling to save on mylar, the paint beads up on the silicone.

A)should I rip out the mylar?

B)if I ripped it out what about using FRP fiberglass reinforced paneling, or a commercial white fabric scrubbable wallpaper
