How to water in Small pro mix beds

Greetings,
I am using a vertical rack system with 4 shelfs, each shelf has a tub filled with 16 gallons of promix hp.
I installed drains on each tub but have never watered to the point of any run off and I water every other day and can water the whole room with no more than 40gals . Today I used half that.

I wonder if any one here has any experience with promix beds that don't drain. If I watered to runoff I would not have to water for a week or so.
My ppms never went over 1200 and I see no real issues with the plants themselves as of yet...
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated ...

First time I water any plant I make sure I get all the medium saturated so you don't develop dry pockets of dirt. It will take a long time for time to need water again.. And by letting them dry out your roots will grow . If your in beds how do your roots breathe? I did beds for 2 runs when I first started and they didn't work for me. I hope you have better luck.

i used to grow in huge plywood boxes of sunshine#4 which is a lot like promix. no drainage, just a 6x8 plywood box lined with plastic sheeting. Works great, just dont fuck up cuz if u overfeed or lockout u are doing it to all your plants.

keep your PH in line and be careful of salt buildup, thatis my main worry growing in soiless when i start feeding heavily.

Did you mean In general or in non draining beds... Do you think 1200 ppm max is too high or too low? Would you feed every water or FWWF etc? I have done beds in a flat garden only once filling up 4x4s with coco,it did ok but by no means great as it was my first go with a coco product...

I would like to figure out a way to feed more often like i did with e&f or constant dripp wf,so i am curious if mini coco beds would out perform this promix hp ....

If you leave 20 percent runoff every time u water u never have to worrie about ph or salt build up....newbie growers only seem to water there pots till they see a few dribbles from the drain holes....that's not the right way to water them...you will get salt build up and root problem that way.....just my thought...

Scarecrow Were you refering to any medium or just coco. I had root problems watering promix to 15% runoff in 2 gal pots, however I have some in 5 gals that I do not water till runoff and the results are ideal, everything looked beyond amazing. I did keep ppms under 1200 and gave them pure water up to 2 x a week but they look super happy.
