how to vent lights if i dont put them end to end

ok so i have 3 super sun 2 light hoods. I am growing in eight 20gal smart pots. when I put the lights end to end so that the vent holes line up, then it seems like I am wasting some light and they hang off the end of the pots too much. I have the pots set up in a 2x4 rectangle.

If i set them up so that the broad side of the lights are next to each other, it seems like the light is more focused on the pots. But the ventine holes dont line up.

How would you cool the hoods in this situation?

Either split your cooling or vent each by itself. If u split , put in a large enough fan for the additional heat

lol So just snake them around and use a stronger fan?

hmmm I am not sure that this answers my question. My lights are sealed and I would like to use the last method in that video but I dont want to stack my lights length-wise....So I would need to use two 90 degree bends in the venting between each light and it seems inefficient.

Does anyone have their lights set up like this?

I am not in a tent.....but a 10x10 room in a baseme

get a 10 inch y that turna into 2 8 inch.or 8 inch into 2 6 inch and make it work like this

use smooth stove pipe,not dryer tubes..less drag/resistance.and that ALLWAYS equals less power needed,no matter what the application(yes,an infantile sex joke)
depending on distance between hood,use 2 elbows,connecting 2 vent holes on one side,2 on the other..last 2 open holes are intake/out for fans lines..if there is a distance between hoods,use elbows and straight piece the same distance.
extra benifit is more rigid lighting system,and you can bolt/self tap screw stove pipe together..allowing for a full unit "raising/lowering" system to be integrated if you choose.also runs a fan WAY more quietly..air rushing over dryer tubes and their bumpy surface gets LOUD.(extra tip,hang inlines fom bungee cords.)
or,go smart,use no glass in your reflectors and install a minisplit a.c.,and get a 20percent yeild increase..

Not that this wouldn't work but the bigger Y adapters come at a price. I think I paid around 60 for a 12x10x10.

If you use flexible hosing cut to a proper length for smooth arc and push the air. If you pull it will collapse the hose and cut air flow.

Put two running the same direction and the third at a 90 degree to them a few feet out. Makes a U with the hoods. Good cross light and run in a loop through all hoods easily.

The 1 above is 34 at sears but can get alot cheaper if you go thru a distributor but there kinda pricey but buy 1 time and your done so i would ratjee donit right the first time

Ahhh, I see where you are going with that. That could work.

So if i completely butt my lights against each other and run them length-wise, they are about 11 inches longer than my pots....so they will only hang off about 5.5 inches on each side. That is probably actually a good thing? And then I can grow some herbs or something else on the edges, or root clones, or..... =)

So I might be needlessly complicating things
