How to treat with light an auto plant in flowering.

Guys, I'm sorry for the newbie question but what light/dark period is the most suitable for an auto plant in flowering stage? I know that it will start flowering regardless the light/dark regime. If I leave it exposed to light 24/7, will the yield be better than 12/12? I'd obviously like to save some money for electricity but at the same time I'd like to maximize the yield...

20/4 is the common autoflower light schedule.

Is this what is recommended by the breeders or is this what you do? Do you know for fact that growth and yield are better if a 20/4 light schedule is used instead of 12/12 when flowers appear?

20/4 works best. They get lots of light, and a little sleep. I know it's just a plant, but I think every living thing benefits from a little sleep.

More hours of light means more hours of active photosynthesis...more growth.The main advantage of autos is the ability to run them from seed to harvest at 24/0.Anything over 12/12 is viableif you want to save electricity,I personally wouldnt go below 18/6 otherwise you might as well just grow a regular photo plant.

Thats actually a fallacy, its proven that without rest the plant will slow down photosynthesis to catch up. Any more than 20/4 youre wasting money for the returns you get.

Ill do some digging. I understand the logic behind 24hrs, cannabis is a c3 plant and can not store or use co2 during lights off so one would think it needs 24hrs but you have to look at the other side of the coin, respiration and how the plant will use the sugars. Like i said gimme some time id like to find something from acadamia.

in veg 24/7 is better than 12/12.did side by side.dont know bout flowering though.btw flowering in autos is regulated by flowering locus c, which is not influenced by light.so i guess 24/7 will be best in flowering too

I can't say if plants need rest or not. I can say for sure that plants will stretch more with a shorter light period. The ruderalis (can't spell) is a time sensitive strain. So light away

c3 dont require darkness to store sugar. its called dark reaction, but it means there is no light required.
