how to transplant

from my pots to the dirt? should i till all the dirt first? how far should my plants be away from each other, and should i wait untill i determine all the plants sex before planting in ground? thanks

I'm using potting soil and perlite 2' deep and 2'x2' and planting at 3'. I have nothing but sand and the water only gets in to the ground about 4" max. I might even get garden compost not sure about that yet.
