How to top off DWC res??????

My DWC plant is drinking a ton of water now and I know I may need a PPM meter to see it she's eating vs drinking but what water do I top off with? Do you all keep pH'd water ready? I use tap water and I let it sit before res changes. Should I have nutrients in it? Air stone? PH down? Beneficials? Last night was the first time I had to top off and I didn't have anything ready so just used water straight from tap and pH'd it. What do you do???

Good idea to let tap water stand before use. I wait 2 days before using tap water. You can go crazy trying to do everything right and everyone seems to have a different opinion. A friend of mine who has grown for 30 years laughs at me for all my efforts. The only thing he does is start with good soil. He waters with a garden hose. Last year one of his Northern Lights grew to 17 feet! Enjoy your experience.

I'm new to this too amd I'm using dwc my first round I was unsure but I did ph tap water with about half strength nutrients and if I had water left I covered the bucket and put an air stone in it so I didn't waste any! I used technaflora bc line for tjat amd yielded 6 oz on my first grow

I would use your tap water directly unless you have issues with it. I have well water, very nice well water, I add bleach every other week to about the same levels as tap water (assuming chlorine, not chloramine) to ensure no bacteria grow in my rez.

Just watch and be ready to adjust the PH the day after top off. You want a PPM meter for sure, really helpful, almost a necessity.
