How to prevent / remove moisture / humidity

I have a 8x10x10 room that is completely taped adn filmed off and my HPS bulb blew due to what I think was moisture build up.

How do I prevent moisture from building up?

DEHUMIDIFIER! they're like $80 at Wal-Mart - it'll take care of the problem. i've got one in my room and i can regulate the humidity perfectly.

your bulb blew? did the actual glass break and blow up?

the bulb just blew, it didnt break, there is black mark on it adn white residue inside.

what is your humidity inside of your room>? is your fixture air cooled?

I have no idea the exact humidity but teh entrance door is always wet with drops and small puddles on the fllor have formed after abotu 2 weeks. My fixture is not cooled at all either. I am putting two fans in there today. Should tha help til I can get a dehumidifer? I cant figure out why the bulb blew.

wait, there is this white stuff on the cord that is plugged into the extension cord then the wall, maybe the guage of the extension cord wasnt thick enough adn it somehow blew the bulb ???

is it really cold outside there? and there is poor insulation? cuz it sounds like condensation...

which means ur gonna have hella mold problems dude. you're gonna need to poly that grow room with some plastic ceiling, walls, and floor... then run the dehumidifier as well. Seal that biatch up and then dehumidify it or you'll be breathing mold spores before you know it... and, of course, your buds will go to mold.

it is hella cold outside. The insulation is not very good either. I have the entire area sealed off with tape and panda film besides the entry door which is a flap of film that isnt sealed very well. I already had mold on some of the plants but I sprayed with peroxide and it's gone for now.

You may be on to something but........what else can I do? Just seal it off as good as possible? I have afan in there as well, will that help with mold?

Regarding the bulb....any more ideas about that?

dnt use an extension cord on an hid. what gauge wire is the extension???? dnt burn your house down......please.. wire a new cercuit with its own braker to run your grow room. balast plugs into an outlet, you say thers marks on the cord... did it trip a breaker\blow a fuse????? inspect the cord get your electricity right.

I had no problems running it before though...? Same wattage 600w HPS

It didn't trip a breaker or blow a fuse either.

The gauge of the extension cord is....???? It's your standard orange ext cord.

I have no electronic experience really so modifying the circuit is impractical as of right now.
