How to lower output of hid lighting???

I need to lower the output of my 1000w ballast, how can I do that? Anyway possible. +Rep for all thoughtful considerations. Thank you in advanced my friends.

adjustable ballasts.
Just for shits and grins why lower the output? why not get a lower wattage light? or CFL's. Il trade my 400 HPS with a new bulb for your 1k light

I know you can overdrive a HPS ballast/lamp by placing another capacitor in series with the ballast, but I don't know about making it less powerful.

????????????????Why would you wanna lower the power....... You would end up spending more money in equipment and electrical rather than just trading it up for something smaller! Talk to your local hydro store or do some reserach on ebay / craigs list and see if you can sell it or trade it and get something more fit for your capabilities, or just talk to jesus of Cannabis
