ima harvest my dwc hydro girls around cinco de mayo and was wondering what i should do before harvest besides a flush and 24-72 hours of dark? should i leave it completly dry with no resevoir the last 24 hours? im thinking the roots would be nicely ariated and maybe a faster dry and more trichs.. anybody ever tried that or know of any reasons why u shouldnt do that?

I'd lower the strength of the nute solution or just use water. Also lower the amount of water you are using.

These are just suggestions. I have read, as I am sure you have, that you want to lower the strength of the solution so that the plants use up their nutes. This is suppose to prevent that chemically taste.

I've never been convinced about the benefit of putting a plant in the dark for the last few days.

I grow in DWC and whenever I harvest I just flush with a finishing solution for seven days, and then chop the main stem and hang the plant to dry for about ten days. Sometimes I stay with the bloom nutrients and switch to pure water just for the last 24 hours. That seems to be enough to reduce the residual phosphorous and give you a smooth smoke.

I like to keep things clean when drying with a low humidity. Having damp dead roots hanging around would probably increase the risk of fungal infections getting to the bud so I'd be inclined to avoid it.
