How to Grow Indoors

Hey all,

I plan to (attempt) growing herbs hydroponically (Waterfarm drip system) in a space under my foyer using a 250 HID. I'll start with one plant, two max. Have to solve the odor and heat problem discreetly.

I've started growing kitchen herbs (basil, parsley, etc.) using Emily's Garden in a back bedroom. Getting supplies for this will mask my other venture under the foyer.

After reading some of various blogs, there's more to growing than planting, growing, drying and smoking. What is flushing? And curing? Why a fan for blowing air around? I understand an exhaust for removing heat from the bulb. What are the basic steps?

Start the seeds,
Grow stage,
Bloom stage,

Where do I go from here? Flush, cure? Any recommended reading I should look up?

Many questions, but the money I spend for 6 months of entertainment would cover the cost of equipment needed to grow. Worth a try, since I'm retired, on a limited budget.

not sure how much you've looked at the FAQ section of the website, but that can be very helpful with your questions.

flushing is clearing the soil of built up nutes over time, generally done the last 2 weeks of flowering. curing is done after drying.

that was just a really quick insight. check out the FAQ section.

O,

After reading a few threads on this site, I panic'ed and wondered if I'd be able to pull off my little venture. I have to keep my growing away from everyone else in the house. Gotta think about exhausting heat and removing the odor from the area. That will add more complexities to my venture. I'm new to this site, no more than two weeks, so I haven't gotten around too much on it. After posting my thread, I noticed the GrowFAQ folder. I will read through the info before proceding futher.
