I guarntee you I can veg a 15 footer in a 6 gallon pot with just 5 gallons of dirt.
These trees I have now that are around 7' still in veg in 5 gallons of dirt started out in 16oz cups for a grow contest and they made it to 5' easily in 16oz plastic drinking cups before I gave up on the contest idea.
And they weren't skinny single cola plants either, I had supercropped and topped them along the way.
Veg is easy, it's flowering that needs more root mass.
The trick is ebb and flow or similar cause you have to water and feed constantly with such a tiny root mass. 15 footers would need daily watering probably. My 7 footers need watering only once every 5 days or so thus far and they aren't root bound yet because I only transplanted them within the last month or so.
It has taken since mid feb to get them to the size in my attachment in my previous post in this thread. For 15 feet it will probably take another three to four months so you would be vegging nearly a year and using a couple thousand watts stacked to cover them. I got to 5' with 500w of halide and to 7' with a single 1000w covering all six plants. Another part of the trick was vertical lighting not horizontal.
