How to get started?

I have been wanting to get into hydroponics for some time now. I know that education is the key but I am curious how others here started out. And have been frequenting this hydroponics site looking for products since they are located close to me. For my first setup, I was wanting to use a standard size closet space ( about 8x3 x8 )that I am not using. I am wanting to use LED lights as well, but other than that I am not sure where to start. Does anyone have a recommended list of supplies to get started or a link to share to get me on track with all this?

i just set up my first mate and i just made it simple 10 litre pots on a possting tray with a hole drilled in corner on a slight slope for drainage into a res/large bucket with pump on timer for feeding

im just saying if budgets tite can always be done and buying kits is always more expensive wen u can buy at ur local garden centre

Have you done any sort of grow before at all? You might want to do a cheap soil grow or 2 if you haven't just to get the whole grow experience down.
