I don't understand why you have to explain anything to them. If it were me, I would just sneak a bag of soil in at night or something. No reason for them to see the soil and get suspicious. I hope you really are only going to start the plants indoors because even vegging plants would be enough for your roomates to smell.
I would also move the fuck out! Why do you have roomates that are "bitches"? I have never had a roomate, fuck that...
