Hot water, soap, a good rinse with more hot water, and then air it out. I re-use 1qt sauerkraut and pickle jars. After a wash and some time to air out, it seems to get rid of the smell.

Wash the crap out of it, repeatedly. My first jars had previously stored dried wild mushrooms for a few years. Took some work but were soon as good as new :-)

urine will do the trick, its free as well. piss in a jar and leave it for three weeks and shake it up , there will be no need for detergent and she smell will be no more!

Maybe the lid..they absorb stuff. Dump some Cascade in each one and add real hot water..Shake up. Set upside down.Let sit then rinse. Cascade cleans bongs well too.

You can also shit in the jar and shake it up for a few weeks. It will certainly not smell like spaghetti anymore.

Lol I wash my jars with dish soap and dry them out! Big pickle jars are awesome to use and cheap. They still smell for a bit but I only wash them once. The bud quickly changes the aroma of the jar!

How the fuck did you get the smell out of a pickel jar?

I have pickel jars in the barn that have had rusty nails, bolts and whatnots in them for years, and I can still smell the vinegar or whatever it is in the rubber seal on the lid.

I basically robbed a dude at a yard sale years ago, guy had some old vintage blue glass 1 quart jars for sale for 25 cents a piece! I took them all, over 80 of them. Apparently the day before someone bought over 200. His wife was big into gardening and canning. She had been canning and giving it away for decades he said, and everyone always returned the jars so she filled them back up and sent them back out again the next year.

And now I put weed in them, lol.

Maybe put something in that has a more neutral odor for a while -- let that change the smell in the lid to something that meshes better with pot. But I agree with Supchaka -- the lid will quickly take on the pot smell.

just add a little bleach to the water you put in the jars, then give um a good shake.or you leave um for a few hours before you pour the water out.
