how to get a large yield from the following setup?

I am limited to about 9 plants in a 5x8 room with 2x1000 hps lights, carbon scrubber, fresh air in and old scrubbed air out, ,pretty air tight room.


My question is: I am used to growing in dirt (sunshine #4) and GH for nutes , the yield is usually around 1lb per light.

I am thinking about trying a aeroponic , 1 plant per 5 gallon unit ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9giG07M8uo ) like in the video


I am try to yield as much as I can from the 9 plants, has anyone ever grown monster plants in aeroponic or anything else besides dirt?

Your worried that 2 lbs per 9 plants isn't enough?

because of work, i only have the time to grow once a year

You can greatly increase your yields and light efficiency if you add more plants That's a lot of space and light you're using on a small number of plants.

promix and 5 gal pails, i can get half pound a plant easy that way... i use DNF nutes , veg, and bloom... never any issues... hydroponics is always smaller crops... faster but smaller...

sorry, but what is dnf?

would a dripper (constant drip ) work in a 5 gallon pail with soil?

2 1000s is way to much for 9 plants i fit 9 under my 400 easily ur just wasting power and my time

DNF is nutes.... i have had the best results with it.... and no dont use a dripper.... with the 5 gal pail... or bigger.... water once a week, or as needed... drippers clog up.. and its not needed..... and save money by using just one light.. you dont need 2... but if u do want bigger yeilds it may help...as the plants will get real big if you prune and repot into 10 gal pails.... the bigger the pot/pail the bigger the plant...i can get nearly a pound and a half off one plant if i use a big enough potter.... but i rather get more with more plants.... i have seen plants in homemade boxes with 3inch stems but the pots were like 20gal a lil to big for me...

also a few grows ago i tried using just 18 oz beer cups... and i got 1 ounce per cup dried weight.... nearly 300 cups you do the math... that was under 2 1000 hps... i really think you should just clone and go with more

Wow, those will be massive.

I don't see anything wrong with using 2 1000w in there, so long as you can handle the heat. The strong penetration will be necessary with the bushes you'll have in there.

I didn't see the video, but are they using an external res and 5 gallon buckets or similar?
The reason I ask is because if it is only a 5 gallon res, it will be difficult to maintain ph/tds/h20 levels with such big plants. You'd need an external res.

Are you keeping to 9 plants for any particular reason?

If you add a few pictures of the sun and a Bic Lighter or two . It'll increase your yield ..

Primary light (no natural light) coverages for the different grow light wattages are as follows.

• 100 watt lights: 1.5FT x 1.5FT growing area
• 150/175 watt lights: 2FT x 2FT growing area
• 250 watt lights: 3FT x 3FT growing area
• 400 watt lights: 5FT x 5FT growing area
• 600 watt lights: 6FT x 6FT growing area
• 1000 watt lights: 8FT x 8FT growing area
