How to avoid to tall plants?

I read a few responses but most say the same thing (why bother, lst, and or top/FIM)

I agree with all the above but thoughts I'd include some ways I train my plants;

This is candy cream from seedsman

Been in veg for about 45-50 days and transplanted once from a solo cup. I like my plants short and big; she will be transplanted into a 10 gal in a week for her final pot.

Only FIM twice, the rest is lst/hst

I use the soften, twist and bend method for supercropping.
No snapping, just a huge knot.

Sometimes I just bend the whole plant over like this one; 8 ball kush

Which then turned into this in less than a week

I'm guessing the wholes in the leaves are just from animal store around? Sucks :/ but gorgeous nonetheless
June is grasshopper season in NW Florida. Thanks. Most years I lose some to the deer, some to the grasshoppers, some to the termites. Touch wood, the only loses I've had so far this season have been under the lights.
