How soon to try to fim a seedling for a scrog setup?

I've got this girl (Dinafem Super Silver), just pushing out her third node right now:

I'm planning to try my hand at fimming her soon, but I was just curious if there is a minimum number of nodes I should wait before trying it. Wouldn't want to hurt the little lady. The plan is to take 2 clones from the branches that result from the fim, put those into a clone chamber, and then put a screen in place and start training the mother for the scrog.

You generally do it at the 2nd or 3rd node but it helps to wait until the plant is more established say 4-6 nodes in. I've found it really increases recovery time when you give the extra bit of vegetative time, cuts it down from a week to a day or so and gives you a nice tall top to clone as well.

Stay Frosty!

Nice, do you have a grow journal? I'd like to sub so I can compare growth rates and whatnot. I fimmed mine after about 9-10 days, so it's hard to compare the top, but here's what it looked like on day 12:

I am growing in an organic potting soil mixed with about 30% perlite to improve drainage. I'm a minimalist when it comes to fertilizers, and most sativas prefer less nutes anyhow. I'm using Espoma Plant-tone, which is a dry organic fertilizer you mix in the soil or sprinkle on the surface. It's supposed to be slow releasing when you sprinkle it, so you only need to do it once or twice a month. I gave a light dose around 15 days, and then mixed a heavier dose into the soil when I transplanted to the final grow container around day 23. Check the link in my sig to see the latest pictures (been under 12/12 for a week now, still no signs of flowering but lots of stretch).

EDIT: I forgot to respond to the pH question. I'm of the philosophy that you shouldn't even check your pH until you have a problem, since you're more likely to cause problems by trying to target some ideal pH than just letting it run its course. Of course if you see any signs of nute lockout or other health issues, pH is probably the first thing to check then. So, to answer your question, I have never even checked my pH because the plant has looked so healthy.

Just a tip, by the way, this plant (like many sativas) flourishes best if you water it infrequently, but give a heavy watering when you do water. I am down to watering about once every 7-10 days now.
