you can use this general rule of thumb, begin to flower when they're roughly half the size you want them to be at harvest.

you could even do 12/12 from seed, jst dont expect more than a few grams of dried bud. it all depends on you. u can veg for 6 months in a ten gallon tub before u induce flowering and have a monther of a plant, after only 9 months lol catch my drift

There is currently a shotglass challenge and party cup challenge going.... If you want to see how ridiculously small a plant can be and flower. When you switch to 12/12 it will flower, regardless of how big the plant is or how much of a root system it has.

Mistaphucks rule of thumb for being half as big as you mind it getting is a good one.

IF you look at the pic in this thread >>>> https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/364970-time-flower.html <<<< Personally I would only flower the 2 largest, some would do the 4 largest.

calyx?? whats that?
a calyx is the flower that compounds to form buds, theyre what the little white hairs (pistils) come out of. you can think of them as pot vaginae if you will

ps on a more interesting note according to the spell checker thingy on here, vaginas is not the proper plural term for vagina apparently it is vaginae, interesting..

thanks . can they be grown with just the light i have?
You will have to tell us what you have for lighting before anyone answers that. IF you have to ask... you may not have enough, or the right spectrum's.

Technically speaking... It will grow.. all you need is light, water, CO2 and nutrients. A higher intensity [MORE] light, in the correct spectrum will improve your experience... but there are plenty of people who have success with ridiculously modest lighting. For Veg you want 6500K "FULL Spectrum", and for flower you want 2700K often characterized as "warm" or "soft".
