How soon can I flip after Topping?

Hey guys! I was very interested in the 12/12 fs thread and almost decided to go that way. I wanted a small grow with a nice cola, and some quick turnover to try a few strains out. But i wanted to give topping a shot, and advised that I should not top in 12/12 because the plant will not have enough time recoup.

So with that I decided to start two rooms, and have a 18/6 room and a 12/12 room. So how soon after topping can i throw the lady in the 12/12 tent? I want them to be small with two nice colas. My plant is recovering from the topping I did last week and the two new sites are shooting out some good leaves. Does anyone have a picture of how a topping looks the soonest you can throw it in 12/12 and have a nice happy plant with two Thick colas? (Keeping them short and bushy)

Once the new shoots start to emerge, I think it would be perfectly fine to switch to 12/12. You can let them grow for a few days just to give them a bit of a start, but it should be fine to switch.

Cool! They are popping out JUST a little bit now! I will just hold off for a day or two just for good measure! Just wanted to make sure I didnt have to wait for sexual maturity or when they start to show sex! Thanks!

yupp nameless was on piont! yeah the better idea would be to let em recover a few days . i do my last top 10 days before 12/12, you want them to transition into flower 100% ,remember when you do any training your stressing the plant especially topping, becuase you stunt the plant, nameless was right you could have switched day after but its best to get some growth let the plant recover to get a good stretch and root production the first few weeks of flower

Yes FIM'ing is superior to topping for sure. I FIM first, LST for awhile, then supercrop. Works Nicely!

I dont have that much room in my tent. I am actually only topping two of my strong plants because I feel that they can take it. I think the 4 colas would just be a bit to much. I was going to FIM but just went with the top to get 2 colas. Maybe next go round... less plants bigger yield.. But this is for my personal grow so, i want to try as much as possible. And just wanted to work on my topping skills~!

Honestly it kind of balances out in a way. You can have one huge cola, top and have 2 pretty damn big colas, or FIM and have 4 decent sized ones. I feel like they def get a bit smaller as you create more tops.
