i was wondering how similar tomatos and marijuana are in their needs. Do they require similar growing envirnments? basically what i am getting at is could one use tomato plants to test your grow environment? Am thinking of changing from soil to aeroponics and i want to practise with a less valuable plant first.

thanks

Be no harm to practise anyway's i think,i used my growing nutes(soil) on my dad's tomato
plants when he was away on holiday, and i killed them lol.all the leaves fell off and shit,so
dunno if tomatoes would be the best way to check the nute's you are going to use !!!

I remember reading that tomatoes are very similar to mj. If you think about it they are both rapidly growing, flowering/fruiting annuals.

You should practice with the plant your going to grow. You can practice with fewer plants than what you want, but I would start getting experience with weed. Why waste three months for a BLT? You could get lucky with your first grow and be smoking some decent weed.

I always use to grow with my tomatoes... Use grow on the entire garden to begin with, then switch to flower in july or so...

I was thinking similar why not just get some bag seed and go to town torturing the plant. This way you can see what works for you and by the time you grow a good strain you will have a nack for it.

grow both, nothing better than having a BLT when you got the munchies from your own smoke. but yes, they need the same things. light, food, and water

thanks for all the great input everyone, i have a marijuana garden now, all the girls grow in soil. But ya maybe i will test aeroponics with some clones or tomatos as i have a plenty of marijuana. I was looking to start this prolly as the growing season ends here in the northeast and we all have to move inside
