How should cannabis be legalized?

I just ate a med so it hasn't kicked in yet... anyway... I do not want to see cannabis legalized just so it can be taken over by giant corporations (like alcohol and tobacco). I want it to be free for anyone to grow privately, as that provides for a more wholesome med and also allows for small business opportunities...
In other words, legalize it like oregano or basil - not like wine or cigarettes... What do the rest of you think?

Alcohol and tobacco are not monopolies. There are myriad small brands (beer! cigars!) and home-brewing and home-growing 'baccy are legal.

However since weed IS an intoxicant, any hope that it would not be regulated, taxed, controlled ... as such is a pipe dream imo (if you'll forgive the metaphor). cn

there are over two dozen small, family-owned vineyards and wineries within 25 miles of my house.

i can even brew my own wine if i want. hell, i could even grow my own tobacco and roll my own smokes if i wanted.

what you are saying does not make any sense.

however, the answer to your question is: we legalize it however we can in incremental steps and likely via voter initiatives.
