How safe is it really to grow? Any experiences

If you have your rec, how safe is it to grow.

Lets say you go with 6 mature and you get raided, I know they could still arrest you but anyway you could get fucked in court?

What if you had the 12 immature going as well (so 12veg and 6 flower)?

I know it's kind of a fuzzy thing but anyone have experienced with the law

You aren't going to get arrested if you have a scrip and aren't over the limit. Different counties/cities in Cali may have different amounts you can grow or possess, but they aren't gonna waste their time and money on small grows that are legal

As of earlier this year (due to Cal Supreme Court Ruling), there is no numerical limit. Regardless of your county guidelines, the law is now that you are allowed to grow enough for your personal use.

If you use only edibles or concentrates, that would justify higher plant count numbers than the typical "6 & 12" that people go by.

Thing is, local law enforcement gets to decide if you're growing just enough for yourself. Not the doctor that charges more to recommend more plants.

If you don't tell anyone about your grow and don't have any unexpected fires or police incidents you'll be straight. Let me reiterate DON'T TELL ANYONE.

if police raided you and you only had 6-12 plants.. some cop would look like a dumbass & chief would be pissed @ the fuel expense.

I'm a big fan, D.S.M, but I must dissagree. According to our attorney, it would be a JURY who decides. You're correct in that local law enforcement can choose to arrest you for exceeding the 6/12 limit. But, if you can convince a jury that you need more...no conviction. If the DA sees that you will likely convince a jury, he will reject the case. It's simple to argue for more plants. Maybe you only vaporize keef due to sensitive lungs. Or edibles. Or keef edibles. On a collective grow op scale, our lawyer recommends no more than 10 plants per patient. On a personal level, considerably more. Just make sure the evidence supports your intended argument. For example, have some keef, silk screen, and some keefed buds in the trash (all can be "props").

The safest bet is always to stick with the 6/12 and read A.G. Brown's guidlines. If you need more, just grow massive trees. We just bloomed out 4 big mothers that yielded over an Lb each. A 1000 watt HPS serviced each plant. From a legal standpoint, 6 plants yielding an elbow each is safer than 30 plants yielding an elbow total.

I agree with you 100%, I respect your wisdom, and my reply was a little brief and vague. All I was really saying is that regardless of how much one spends for a special rec that says you can grow more than 6/12, if local LE looks at you garden and feels it for more than just personal medicine, you can be arrested, and if the DA agrees, you will be tried.

I think, in the end, avoiding trouble all boils down to being somewhat discrete, and making an effort to fly under the radar.

You hit the nail on the head. Make sure that you don't ever have to show that rec to anyone. Would that fall under the "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" saying? Flying under the radar is the way to fly. I don't care how tight your paperwork is...and ours is TIGHT. I meet with my attorney all the time to make sure we're covered in the event of a raid. Yet, the more important issue is avoiding the raid in the first place. And that has always come down to how many people know about the grow. 95% of busted grow ops have been ratted on. The other 5% are just bad fucking luck.

The problem is, that's not entirely true, and is way to broad of a generalization to be useful. Not all counties are the same, or as tolerant, and city law can come into play as well.

There's a line an the sand being drawns between cities and counties in California. There are those who embrace Med Marijuana and want it to thrive it its borders and make money from it. And, there are the cities and counties (like Ventura County where I live), that detest it. There are ZERO dispensaries in Ventura County. Any delivery service that advertises gets busted the next day. Dispensaries in Los Angeles county just over the Ventura border are booming. It's becoming a "border town" dynamic. Ventura County has always been a den of Nazis in government. They are only just now backing off a bit, as courts are backlogged 6 months. Where you live plays a HUGE roll in what kind of risk you're taking.
