i have found long lost family members and rekindled old relationships thru facebook.

how is that bad?
Facebook has it's virtues. But everything I've seen of Facebook can be surmised in one, single, word, SCANDALOUS!! Us young people are just stupid that way. :D

I'm tired of being hounded by my friends to give in a join facebook. I'm the only person I know (around my age) that doesn't have one. I'm not anti-social. I have a phucking phone. an email address. A PHYSICAL address. Fuck, come by and hang out. Eventually I will probably have to stop frequenting RIU, as i'm spending more & more time here. :)

Maybe it's to do with people posting their details for just their friends to see, and then despite this, suddenly their details and physical aresses are being handed over to third party companies for the sole purpose of advertising and bugging you into buying someones stuff. It is the same with smartphones, just by installing certain apps you unwittingly start sending off your private info to a random company, no one knew that that was going on until some people went prying.

One of the most powerful native americans in history thought he was the richest man in the world; and that was before coined currency even found its way into his hands.
When it did, he turned around and gave it back to those who he saw needed it more than he did; as he pitied them for their lack of functionality and priority.
He could walk out into the middle of the battlefield, sit down, smoke his pipe (as bullets were flying all around, and at him) til it was gone, then get up and walk back to where he came from unscathed; knowing full well that he would not be hit on that day.

The original/true medicine men did not work for money, they only worked on healing people at no charge; and their people supported them for doing so.

Work in the Alberta oil sands, destroying our environment one day at a time, to fuel American war interests, and to keep up with our incessant addiction to oil. Pays well though, $120,000+ a year. I am the ultimate hypocrite.

Everybody should be able to choose what they will do. If this Medicine Man you speak of was happy and harmed nobody good for him and all those he helped. I don't think the sitting amidst flying bullets thing is competely accurate or advisable though...bullets kill good people and some bad guys are pretty good shots.

That's like saying it's stupid to believe that all of our emails and IP's are not secure on this site and that they are happily handed out... websites have terms and conditions, are you saying it's stupid to bother with them as it's acceptable for them to be broken? CConsidering all the enws controvesy about this stuff, i would place my bets on it not being acceptable practice :D
