how old or big must a plant be to take clones???

I usually wait until the plant has developed alternating nodes. This is usually around nodes 5-6-7 for the strain I am growing. This is also a good time to top the plant or LST it depending on your height constraints.

There are no age restrictions! I take cuts during the stretching phase, For example! Veg for a week and flip to 12/12, It's during this stage just before pre flowers that the plant stretches/grows a huge amount, Take cuts at the first opportunity during this stage and before flowering begins.

only problem with that is they are more likely to die and wont be as strong as a clone that was taken at 2 months. different strokes for different folks i guess but i got my info from a few vets so thats what i go by

I thought you were joking about the 2 months thing. There's not an age restriction, but I've found that the more mature the mother the BETTER the clones will be. But, I like to use clones to grow with very short veg times so I won't fairly mature clones so they are ready to flower promptly.
