im using a 300watt cfl a 125 watt cfl and 2 20 watt cfls for 2 relatively small plants, maybe you should grab another 1 or 2 125watters or a few 20 watts for good measure,
impossible 2 guess the yield it all depends on too many variables

good luck

You're basically at the minimum light needed for 6 plants. You might get 2 oz dry off each.

I'd suggest a 2x3 grid. With each bulb vertically hung covering 4 plants. Put your best two in the middle, getting double coverage. You'll also need polished aluminum to really take advantage of this, Mylar, foils, or sheet. Plane reflectors would be a really good idea as well. Hung on the bulb wires, above the plant & light, boxing in the light.

thanks for the replies. well i was going to use 2 125 watt cfl vegging lights and was going to get 2 250 watt budding lights with the two reflectors in a grow tent. would this be enough light then?

That's the good thing about CFLs... they're easily moved around. Like 'inside' the canopy. On the sides. Underneath, above, wherever.

hi im new and im going to start soon but i sadly broke on of my cfls trying to screw it in:( and i only have 2 left would 2 27w 1750lumen output each be good to sex 5-10 plants in a very small grow cab? just to sex and keep like 2-4? would that be enough? it would be 3500 lumens in total is that enough for a small 16" in hight and 9" wide and 15" in depth grow cabnit? just wondering or would a 13w 800lumen be a big difference? please help me out rep+ for any advice

yes, if they're 6500 K (Daylight) and of course get the 13 watt one in there too.

no there 2700k i believe becuz they shine orangy and more red then blue like the 13w one becuz it didnt say it on the box and i was baked when i bought it so i forgot to check but it doesnt say on the box but i believe its 2700k i no it is not more then 3000k but not sure will it still work? im doing 12/12 from seed becuz of the small hight restrictions

they don't work as well and your plants will stretch more too.

Naww I would suggest a lot more lot or much brighter light. Go to 1000bulbs.com and pick up some stronger CFL's if you can. SUnlight is about 10,000 lumens I believe. You wanna get as close to that as possible, and remember..6500k vegging and 2700k for flowering. goodluck :peace:

My grow setup is a stealth cabinet scrog grow, one plant filling a 18"x12" screen size. My lights are CFLs outputing 28000 lumens. Growing from feminized seeds, and using a strain that is known for high yields.

Iam hoping for 7-8 oz dry on one plant, is this a pipe dream?

If I get a ratio of .5 gram per watt, and my CFL light setup is at 420 watt, that will give me about 210 gram, or roughly 7.5 oz.

doc green thumb. using a bluer light as in 6500k will allow optimum growth. If you're asking, will it work? Yeah, it'll work. You'll have crappy elongated stems, and poor yields though. YOu want the right spectrum at the right time. You'll use those 2700k bulbs later for flowering.
