fuck man i have a fucken shop light the whole fucken time!!!! but i to switch one of the light bulb with one of those plant veggy/lights from home depot. anyway i was wonderin why its only fucken 6 inch tall for 40 dayz in soil . well i have a 400watt HM now but i cant used it until i get a stonger fan.......i fuckin forgot to buy one at the store but fuck man i wasted fucken $30 for mine 64 watt or somthing like that in tolal so i say just change the bulb to those veggy light/fish too from hope depot there like $8 a piecie. its purple and its grow fucked up but works good

It seems many of you HATE the fact that anyone can grow excellent weed with shoplights and get a plentiful harvest for personal consumption . . . in fact, many hate it to the point that they deny it can be done. It can be done easily. The advances in lighting weren't around when I started, and I really never considered upgrading because, not only would that further nullify the concept of "free stash" but I played music for a living and rarely had extra money. Besides, with just a few 12$ fixtures (w/bulbs) I've somehow managed to keep myself stress-free and sane thru out the years . . . and to keep my daughter and her husband in all-but "free" weed. I'm not talking about low grade weed here . . . it's as good as it gets, tho I'm sure my harvests would be much improved thru the use of the newer technology available. However, I'm getting plenty to hold us thru the years, and unless one is growing for profit, I really don't want to harvest so much that the product gets over a year old.

Anyway, this thread started over some kid who wanted to know if his friend could grow anything with his 2ft flueros . . . yes is the true answer and, with any luck, this friend could provide a worthy personal stash. Note: My tubes are 4'

All I'm saying is that some of you are discouraging folks through mis-information, or your own personal failure(s).
It can, is, and will continue to be done, and has/had been done for years before lighting advancements became widely available and the norm, rather than the exception.
I don't know why I'm defending this method, other than for the folks out there who just want a free stash and are being deterred by the expense and forum replies stating total BS.
Just because some of you failed w/flueros doesn't mean squat. It's like once some of you upgrade your lights, you have some need to disassociate yourselves with the facts. Hell, some of you are failing miserably w/all the bells and whistles, according to your posts. How can you fail when you have all the latest tools? Well, personally I have a green thumb and think pots simple to grow . . . and the strength is almost all genetic. A lot of you are over-analyzing things to the point of failure.
If you knew exactly how easily I grow these little crops, you wouldn't believe me.
Some of you don't anyway.

and SHMe, I don't think you'd need to be smokin' two joints of this harvest, no matter what time of day, unless you're just wasteful. I didn't even think most folks smoked joints anymore, except when at a concert, or something. After 40+ years of smoking herb, I'm sure I could stop at two hits, but I'm wasteful and have 4.

And to the earlier post re:shoplights being hot, totally 100% false.
Some of ya'll need to stop blindly repeating crap you've read.

Managed to get close-up last night. It's a little fuzzy and doesn't capture the magnitude of the trichs very well. 36 days.

Exactly, and discourage folks from even trying in the process. I'm a lot older than many on here, 57. I reckon it's normal human behavior for many young(er) folks to think they know it all . . . and nearly impossible for the same gang to come to terms with the fact that they don't know all that much after all.

ok this post is the one that would be Mis leading people.. for 1 i used shoplight thrue 3 grows and never produce more then half ounce a plant when im gettin around 2 ounes under a hps same nutes same tent same EVERYTHING.. for 2 growing with marijuana has been done with shoplights for years.. and hid are fairly new.. but this is also why it has become so much more popular to grow sence the HIDS have come out and been getting more cost effective they are way simpler to deal with!!!! and not to mention a WAY bigger yeild.... and for 3 YES THEY ARE HOT just as hot to the touch as a 250wHID so you would have to keap it the same amount of distace away from plant at a qaurter of the lumens... HA i dont think so... there trash no matter what way you look at it

You can't tell me I shouldn't bother with what I'm doing the way I'm doing it. It's more than enough for the habits of me and mine, and the potency would have to be a matter for the chemists.

Perhaps growing under cool whites is a method unto itself. I don't know. It's just what I've done forever, well since the mid-70's anyway.
Just like hydro, cfl, hps, etc . . . all are simply methods of reaching a goal . . . mine being minimum investment and feeling better.

MUCH better!

alright whats with all the fighting i put a plant under the light along with more cups that haven't sprouted yet. the light doesn't seem to ever get hot and allows me to put it as close as i want. next year i am just going to start them under the shoplight then sex them then plant them outside now they will be going from the worst light to the best light. but if i sex them then i put them outside and they turn back to veg when they go back into flowering like a month away anyone think i will get hermi's
