Water until you get 15-20% runoff. Very easy
Yeah I do this as well. As they grow they require more water. As long as you let the saucers (or whatever you use) start to fill up with water, it is safe to assume you have watered the entire pot.

Just make sure you drain the runoff if using saucers.

I liked a comment the other day, pick it up dry and you will know when she needs water if you know what she feels like full and empty. I am taking that one step further. I got seedlings now but when they land in the final destination pot I bought three bathroom scales I will weigh them empty and weigh them full and keep track in my log so I know when they are thirsty.

Seems simple enough to me the scales were 21 bucks each on amazon. Digital also. I will just leave them under the catch for the pots so the water does not ruin them.

After a while you won't need the scales. You'll be able to know the moisture level by just tipping the
pot a few inches one way or another. Until then get a long, skinny stick, I use a bamboo skewer, and
use it to poke down through the roots. Pull the stick out and see if there is wet dirt on the stick. Same
thing as when mom would poke a toothpick into a cake to see if it was done. Water as soon as the
bottom of the stick is dry.

Any plant in a one-gallon pot should get watered daily. This time of year I water twice a day when using small pots.
Clones grow at vastly different rates when young. After a month they should be around 20 inches? I would water a
20-incher 16 ounces in the AM and another 8 ounces in the afternoon. Works for me.

Good luck, BigSteve.
