Hello,
I'm newbie in growing marijuana.
I have germinated a white widow seed using paper towel.
I have planted it in the growing pot, and since then I am keeping the pot moist
but nothing happens.
How much time would it take for the stem to come up the surface?
thanks anyway.

It depends on various factors.
I keep my plants in a dark warm place until I see the stem. Most of my plants broke ground at 2 days after planting, but two of them took most of 5 days.

Just be patient. Do not throw it out yet!

Mine broke ground in 4-5 days (2-3 days after planted). Did same as you, paper towel method.
You planted them with the "root-tail" down, right?

I soak mine in RO water for about 24 hours in a dark, warm drawer (I have a fan heater and thermostat in there to keep it warm).
After this period of time the seeds will have sunk, and most, if not all will have cracked, displaying a mere millimeter of a root tip.

I plant these into 8oz cups (1/4 inch deep), with my potting mix (soil), spray 2 - 3 times with a sprayer (RO water), cover the top in plastic wrap with a few holes punched in the top. This boosts humidity. Back in the drawer they go.
Water is sprayed twice daily to maintain moistness.

Generally, in about 3 days most of the seeds have sprouted.

At this point they go under the fluoros. 1 23W CFL each (6500k) and in another 24 - 36 hours, the sprouts are upright and are showing first signs of growth.

Hope this helps.

The tale is the start of the root, witch goes in the ground = down.
My friend did plant tail up witch resulted in some up-side-down-growing seedlings that died! (some manged to turn)

Generally, plants are designed to figure shit out...
In nature, seeds are scattered in a random manner, many of them sideways or upside down. They gravitationally will direct the growth of their root tip downwards. The tail will find its way sooner or later.

I prefer going tail down. Assuming the tail did grow upwards more than expected, it could break ground and get damaged.

If it inevitably ends up going down, why not just put it that way anyway?!

i did the same method of wet paper towels i think it took about a day or so to break the soil how far down did you put it? (if you put it down 2 far it will take longer to break) did you pat all the soil down? (this will make it a bit harder to push through which would also take longer) good luck man
