How Much THC is in a Female, Non-Flowering Plant?

Hey guys! :hug:

Couldn't really find a place to put this as it is more of an extraction question, though I guess it
could be considered General Marijuana Growing...

I am curious as to how much THC is in a female, non-flowering cannabis plant? Obviously, we all
know that the potency of any cannabis plant has to due with a variety factors such as soil, light,
GENETICS!, etc.

But I am wondering more of just in general, would it be completely useless to take the trim & branches
off of a female, non-flowering plant and make BHO, ISO, edibles, etc. Or does the plant produce a significant
amount of THC required to do any of those things only once the flowering cycle has started?

It seems like such a n00b question but I think it is fairly important to know for the community (and definitely important
for me to know right now :-? )

IMHO there will be very few trich's to recover as most form during the budding phase.
You will likely waste Butane or what ever your solvent of choice is as the return will be negligible.

This is a very leading question and often leads it self too.....'what does the plant use THC for ...? ...lol ..................................to answer your question my guess is less than 2%

THC is only formed in the Trichromes.
Before flower the plant only has lower cannabinoids.

I recently made bho with out of a female that hsd just started showing sex. She was about 15 inches tall, we actually got about a gram of oil out of it. It was kind of runny, but was totally smokable man. Now I'm not too sure about a completely non flowering female, no experience there lol

Great thanks guys I really appreciate it! Combined, all of you answered all my questions! :)

Basically what I am hearing is if I want to make BHO, ISO, or RSO I will have to wait at least
a few days/weeks into flowering. Otherwise, I should just juice the trim I get before flower.

This is not necessarily at all how I am going to do it though, just good info in my opinion.
For example, knowing if all cannabinoids are alcohol/fat soluble or if they are soluble in other
substances. Or knowing if those cannabinoids exist before flower in order to have a quick
turnover if need be.

If you decide to factor quality into your equation you will want to wait to finish flowering the plant before extracting from it. Suggest you try your ideas though and learn for yourself. What I consider a waste of time may be your cup of tea.

My best guess is that you could get a small amount of plant oils that are very very low (if not practically absent) in the goodies we light up for..

Only one way to find out what you get from said plant.. try it.

What ever cannabinoids that are under THC
IMO- The older the plant the higher those level are.
I smoked some leaf @20 years ago one summer waiting for the crop to come in.
Some of that leaf was a pretty decent high. Really Tripppppy :)

Some of the plant oils might make a nice flavorful smoke though.. you never know. I doubt potency is there, but, might make a good dip for rolling papers or flavoring for cooking... who knows? TRY IT! Then come back and tell us.

THC/sticky icky resin is created as a natural defense of the plant to protect itself. That's why advanced growers keep the temps very low at night because low temps force the plant into defense mode and create more thc.
